Internship Initiative – A Step Toward Developing Future Leaders in Agriculture

Greein focuses on capacity building for the next generation, and as part of this initiative we welcomed our very first intern from August 19 to 23. He is a university student from Rwanda studying agriculture in Japan, specializing in soil science and strongly interested in smart farming. His participation came through the introduction of the Ashinaga Foundation.

During the internship, he also took part in the TICAD Business Expo & Conference (August 2025), where he served as a booth attendant for Greein. While he initially shadowed our team, he quickly grasped our services and soon gave confident explanations in both Japanese and English.

At the event, Seki-san, a board member of Ashinaga, visited our booth and remarked, “It was inspiring to see him explain with such confidence in Japanese. It gave me hope for the tremendous growth of agriculture in Africa.”

After the exhibition, he shared his reflections on how smart agriculture could be promoted across Africa, offering unique insights from his Rwandan perspective. These reflections gave us valuable learnings, reminding us that the internship was not only an opportunity for him to grow, but also for us to learn from him.

This internship supported his personal development while also becoming a moment of mutual learning for Greein, a meaningful step toward the future.
